Activity: Make Your Own Rainbow Foam Dough

 This activity is a great option for sensory play!

You Will Need:

  • 2 cups of shaving foam
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • Mixing bowl and spoon
  • Food coloring
  • (Optional) glitter

Instructions:

Step 1: Add the shaving foam to the bowl
Step 2: Add food coloring. Want to make multiple colors? Make several batches of foam!
Step 3: Add the cornstarch
Step 4: Knead the two ingredients together. Want to add glitter? Feel free to knead it in at the end.

A biography is a detailed story or description about a person's life. It can be about someone who is living, or someone who has passed on.

Happy Presidents' Day

Happy Presidents' Day! Although the library is closed, you can still read about presidents from home by using Libby or Hoopla! For instructions on how to use Hoopla, click here.

Be sure that Kids Mode is turned on, and search for the term you're looking for (for example, "presidents"). Here, many results for nonfiction ebooks and audiobooks will turn up.

Stroll through the beautiful and extensive grounds or take a guided tour through the manor.  Tours are available Wednesday through Sunday, generally starting every hour from 10am to 3pm.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children age 6-12 and free for children under the age of 6.  Visitors interested in tours are strongly encouraged to call ahead (973-962-2240) to confirm tour information for their chosen day.
