Book Review: Sorceline by Sylvia Douyé

Sorceline by French author Sylvia Douyé is the first in a series of middle grade graphic novel books. This is a new English translation that has just arrived at the Main Library. Join natural magic user Sorceline as she studies cryptozoology on the Isle of Vorn! Sorceline, along with her friends and the professors at her school, are uncovering the mystery of why the creatures on the island keep falling ill. This is a magical tale full of twists and turns, with a surprising shock at the end! The illustrations, by Paola Antista, help make this read even more magical. This story is fast-paced and information-packed, and can be a bit tricky at times. Overall, I give this book 7/10 stars.

Great for fans of Harry Potter as well as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Suggested age range: 9-12 years.
